Saturday Academies The Saturday Academy is the signature program of HOPE worldwide Tri-State’s Child and Youth Education Programs. This extended educational opportunity benefits at-risk children ages pre-K to 8th grade residing in low income communities and public housing, bringing together resources from the community to help shape character, build confidence and increase core academic skills in elementary and middle school students. Back to School Drive Distributes new backpacks full of school supplies to low income students involved in our Saturday Academy and other service programs Community Health Fairs HOPE worldwide Tri-State hosts Community Health Fairs as part of its Community Health Education Program. Through health screenings, demonstrations and workshops the Health Fairs offer guidance and resources to encourage healthy lifestyles. Healthy Lifestyles Program Nutrition and fitness program for children and youth run in conjunction with the Saturday Academy. Blood Drives HOPE worldwide Tri-State partners with the American Red Cross to host blood drives within the New York metropolitan area. Community Food and Clothing Drives In today’s economic climate, more families are in need of assistance even with working adults in the household. Through partnerships with the Food Bank of New York, Community Food Bank of New Jersey and the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County, HOPE worldwide Tri-State has been able to provide much needed supplies to benefit families who are in poverty or going through temporary difficulties. Books for Kids/ Food for Thought A HOPE worldwide Tri-State program that provides new books to all children of families receiving supplies from the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County. The poor typically work hard but struggle to break a cycle of poverty which can span generations. By building partnerships, engaging local leaders, and leveraging available resources, HOPE worldwide develops integrated solutions to the underlying problems of poverty on a non-sectarian basis on all six inhabited continents. Whether it’s improving children’s academic performance, feeding the poor, teaching parenting skills or improving access to health care for the medically underserved, HOPE worldwide’s staff and volunteers work with communities to meet needs of families and children through Centers of HOPE worldwide creating sustainable solutions that go beyond addressing symptoms of distress.
